Nuggets Vs Timberwolves Game 7

Anthony Edwards Timberwolves top Nuggets in Game 6, force deciding Game 7

Minnesota ensures Denver faces the same win-or-go-home scenario that the Timberwolves have been in since Game 3

Anthony Edwards left no doubt how eager he was to make a statement against the Denver Nuggets in Game 6 of their Western Conference semifinal series.

After hitting a 3-pointer late in the third quarter, the Minnesota Timberwolves guard turned and ran down the court with his arms outstretched, imploring the crowd at Target Center to make even more noise. The moment was symbolic of the Timberwolves' performance in a 115-75 victory Thursday night, the largest playoff win ever by a team facing elimination against a defending champion, per ESPN Stats & Information research.

With the victory, Minnesota evened the series at 3-3 and forced a Game 7 Sunday in Denver (3:30 ET, ABC). The Timberwolves are 2-1 in Denver this series, but they now have ensured the Nuggets will face the same win-or-go-home scenario that the Timberwolves have been in since Game 3.

Edwards finished with a game-high 30 points on 12-of-19 shooting. He also had five rebounds and three assists. He scored 18 of his points in the first half as the Timberwolves took an 18-point lead in the second quarter. By the time Edwards hit his 3-pointer and yelled at the crowd to get louder, the Timberwolves were up by 30 points and well on their way to routing the Nuggets.

"It was a playoff atmosphere," Edwards said. "It was loud. It was fun. We just wanted to take it to them and really try to put a stamp on the game. We did a great job of that tonight."
